SUMMARY:Collaborative Sandpit Event on the Indoor & Outdoor theme
DESCRIPTION:The BRIDGES Network+ challenges the traditional focus on basic physical needs that result in technologies primarily used for safety\, surveillance and monitoring. Instead\, we aim to empower people with dementia to be in charge of what they want to do by co-designing technologies that support holistic health\, social connection\, and continued participation in communities. \nThis sandpit event is dedicated entirely to our first core theme: Indoor and outdoor spaces. Indoor and outdoor environments can be confusing to navigate and often present challenges such as poor natural light\, uneven surfaces\, changing light conditions\, and lack of seating. \nWho this sandpit is for: \n\nPeople with lived experience of dementia\nResearchers with knowledge of science\, engineering\, design or technology related to indoor and outdoor spaces\nCompanies and service providers with relevant expertise\n\nRegister on the TicketTailor link below to learn more.

Participants will be supported to unpack elements of their everyday experience of dementia\, and through co-design\, imagine ways both simple and complex technologies might give people more freedom\, independence and more happiness day to day.\n\nTravel costs will be covered and there will be refreshments and lunch both days\, with overnight accommodation paid for if desired.\n\nIf you have lived experience of dementia and you would like to take part\, please fill in your details on the Google form here and we will be in touch
