SUMMARY:Ideas workshop for Arts\, Culture and Sport- using technology to promote independence in dementia care
DESCRIPTION:The BRIDGES for Dementia Network+ is a national research initiative bringing together people with lived experience of dementia\, researchers\, designers\, and health professionals. \nJoin us for a creative\, interactive event to develop innovative ideas that harness the power of arts\, culture\, sports and technology to support people with dementia to live as independently as possible. \nWe are committed to person centred and co-produced practice therefore the participation of those with lived experience of dementia is central to the event\, and to all BRIDGES activities\, including the projects that we fund. \nYou can bring existing ideas relating to the theme of the event or use the day to develop ideas in collaboration with other participants. We encourage participation from people who have a range of backgrounds and disciplines\, and with different experiences\, skills and knowledge to share. \nThe event will be facilitated and you’ll have the opportunity to network\, discuss and develop ideas. Mentoring from experienced researchers is also available. Creative techniques will be used during the day but you don’t need any prior artistic skill or experience to take part. \nAfter the event there will be a funding call to support projects responding to the theme: using technology\, arts\, culture and sport to support independence in dementia care. We are interested in art and design-led\, co-produced approaches to dementia innovation. This includes ideas that have real-world application\, a pathway to proof of concept\, and potential for scalability and sustainability. \nAttending this event is not a prerequisite to applying for funding but it is highly recommended. More details about the funding opportunity will be provided at the event. \nJoin us if you are interested in innovative approaches to dementia care and are:\n\nSomeone living with dementia\, a care giver or care partner\nAn experienced researcher\nAn early career researcher\nRepresenting a charity or business\n\nAttendance is free\, but our room capacity is limited to 35 people. \nLunch and refreshments will be provided
