Dementia Design Lab | Day 2 in Manchester

Join us to imagine technology that could make life with dementia better
Day 2 | Drop-in sessions from 10:00-15:00

We’re inviting people living with dementia and the people who support them to a creative workshop in Manchester.

Drop in to share what you enjoy, what gets in the way, and dream up ideas for new technology that could make everyday life richer.

We will play with ideas big and small from music to maps, from robots to a proper chat with friends. Come and share what you love and help us picture what new technology for life with dementia could look like if it was designed around you.

What happens on the day? Join us for one or more of our friendly sessions. Each session is about two hours long and looks at a different part of life.

• 22nd June Getting around- homes, streets, shops and the places we go.
• 22nd June Arts, sport and things we love- music, making, moving, and culture.
• 23rd June Staying in touch- talking, listening and connecting, in person and online.
• 23rd June Trusting technology- what makes tech useful, trustworthy and affordable

In each session you’ll chat about what you enjoy, what could be better, and then we’ll imagine design ideas together. There will be no wrong answers, and no tech skills needed. Some ideas might be gadgets or apps, others might just be a clever twist on something everyday.

Who it’s for: People with dementia and the people who support them. You don’t need any background in technology or design, just a willingness to share your experience and try something creative.

The practical bits: The workshop is free to attend. There are two days in Manchester city centre, easy to reach by train, tram or bus. Food and refreshments are on us throughout. Everything is led by friendly facilitators who’ll make sure everyone feels welcome and comfortable. We can help with travel costs if you need it, just get in touch
